The Information & Learning Commons (ILC) offers special designated reading and working areas to meet the varying needs of students using the facility of studying.

Reading spaces & tables equipped with comfortable chairs and plugs for laptop use are available throughout the ILC. No booking is required.
The Group Study Room is primary for groups of students working on their projects and assignments. Five groups of students may use the Group Study Room simultaneously. Library tutorials and instruction sessions take place in the Group Working Room upon need. In examinations period priority is given to quiet study.
Study Spaces in the Silent Reading Room are available for use by individuals who wish to read in an absolute silent environment. It is not available for Group usage. There is no time limit to use the Silent Reading Room and prior booking is not required. Laptop use is permitted provided no noise is made. Mobile devices should be set to silent mode. During Exam Period no laptops are permitted.
Individual Study Spaces in the Quiet Study Room are available for use by students who need an environment conductive to quiet study or reading. There is no time limit to use the Quiet Study Room. Laptop use is permitted. Mobile devices should be set to silent mode. No booking is required.
The Silent PC Room is equipped with PCs basically dedicated to research and literature searching in the electronic resources that the ILC is subscribed to. Users entering the Room are obliged to work in an absolutely silent environment. All PCs are equipped with the latest software applications and technology to facilitate the research in the various e-resources.
There is also a separate working area in the silent PC Room which students and staff can use for research with their own personal laptops or ipads.
The Silent PC Room is equipped with two printers (color, black and white) and a scanner.
The PCs Working Area is equipped with computers mainly for internet browsing, online catalogue (OpenABEKT) searching and for students’ assignments and project work.
In addition, the applications available on all of the computers include MS office suite, Intranet, MOLE and e-mail. The area is equipped with black & white and color printers and a scanner.
The Room is intended for use by students or groups who need to prepare or practice for an effective presentation. The Project Room is equipped with A/V, hardware and software facilities to support students with the practice or recording of presentation. Booking is required by contacting the Library Services Desk (email, phone, in person). Maximum reservation is 3 hours per day.
