The Theses Collection

The Library has copies of City College Theses accepted for all bachelor and masters degrees. 

Location

When you have found a thesis on the Online Catalogue, note the category (e.g. Computer Science) and the reference number (e.g. BSc AGA 1997). Then you can use the following guide to find out where the item is situated within the Library.

Borrowing Theses

Theses may be borrowed for a week. Each member is allowed to take out two items from the Theses Collection, by taking them to the Library Issue Desk with your Library Card. Strict fines apply to those who return to the Library overdue Theses. 

Renewals may be made in person always at the Library Issue Desk. Alternatively, if you cannot visit the Library you can use the telephone and e-mail renewal service. E-mail renewal requests may be sent at library@city.academic.gr. Items can be renewed twice, provided no one else has reserved them and there are no outstanding fines.

Useful Internet Sites

Hellenic Dissertations Database
The database consists of the national archive of the Hellenic Dissertations. It includes elements for dissertations that were written in Greek universities as well as for dissertations written abroad by Greek Doctors. This information includes: the title of dissertations, the names of the Doctors, the member names of the select committee, the basic elements of the university, the summary e.t.c. These facts come from secretariats, from focal points of universities, from university consultancies , from Interuniversity Centre of Recognition Degrees for the Foreigners and the Doctors. The language of the records is the language in which the dissertations was written. However there is a translation in English and other languages for the titles, the summaries and subject headings.

The site offers advice and help on how to complete successfully a disserations. You may also subscribe to their free newsletter, to receive new article updates, tips, hints, strategies, and publications.

M.I.T. Theses and E-Theses Online
Provided on a trial basis by MIT, this site offers the full text of selected master's and doctoral theses from M.I.T. Users can search the database by keyword, perform an advanced search with separate fields, or browse by author or year. All theses can be viewed as images.

Networked  Digital Library of Theses & Dissertations
This is a collection of electronic theses and dissertations from Universities around the world
