Current Awareness Services
Current awareness or alerting services enable the Academic
staff and
students to keep informed about the latest literature appearing in
their specific fields of interest by providing regular updates on recently published material. These
services usually require you to register your search profile and
whenever something
that matches your profile is published, an alert notification email is sent to you. The following sections highlight
a number of key resources for identifying new literature.

Registration to their e-mail

of journal titles available on Blackwell Synergy, for free. Subject coverage includes Business, Economics,

Cambridge University Press
Cambridge Journals Online provide a keyword, subject and TOCs alerting service which will
notify you with e-mail, when new content becomes available.

Science
Elsevier Science provides a number of alerting and awareness services in support of its journal publishing programme. Most are
available free of charge, some are only available to those at subscribing institutions. Subjet categories

Provides personal e-mail notification of new articles published online, ensuring that
users are kept up to date with the latest research.

OUP offer a free e-mail table of contents alerting service - to regularly receive by e-mail the

BUBL Journals Service
This service provides the contents, abstracts or full text for over 200 current journals and newsletters

of Computing Science Journals

EEVL Current Awareness Services
EEVL is the Internet Guide to Engineering, Mathematics and Computing. EEVL's

computing resources, and be the national focal point for online access to information in
these subjects.
European Integration Current Contents
Provides access to the tables
of contents of journals relevant in European Integration research - law, human rights, economics, history and political sciences. Currently it
covers 106 journals published in nine languages and 14 countries. Where available, abstracts are also included.
EU Official Statistics - Eurostat
An e-mail alerting service is available for new statistics information.
IEEE Xplore

An index of over 1,600 online psychology and social science journals.
Preprint
Archives
Preprints are manuscripts that have not yet been published, but
may have been reviewed and accepted; submitted for publication; or intended for publication and being circulated for comment.
Preprints may also be referred to as "e-prints". Many e-prints are electronic versions of
research papers that have been submitted for dissemination and review among peers; for publication in journals; or prior to presentation at
conferences. Some preprint servers may define preprints as any electronic
work circulated by the author outside of the traditional publishing environment.

CogPrints, is an electronic archive for self-archive papers in any area of Psychology, neuroscience, and Linguistics, and many areas of Computer Science, Philosophy, Biology, Medicine, Anthropology, as well as any other portions of the physical, social and mathematical sciences that are pertinent to the study of cognition.
The service includes a current awareness email alerting service, allowing you to instruct the archive to inform you of

EconWPA - Economics Working Papers Archive
EconWPA is devoted to the free distribution of working papers in economics. There are 22 subject areas, along with a test posting area, a meetings area, an
area for programs and an area for data. Other areas are added when demand dictates.You may want to subscribe to the NEP Notification Service which sends email notifications of new papers, including those on
EconWPA.

Network
The PrePRINT Network provides access to electronic preprints available
from diverse sites. Developed by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Scientific and Technical Information (OSTI), the
Network is a "one-stop shopping" site for preprints in computer
technologies and information sciences, environmental sciences and ecology,
medicine, biology, mathematics, geoscience, and related disciplines. The PrePRINT Alerts feature allows users to create personal profiles which will
then notify the user as new information is added.

COS Meetings and Conferences database contains information on upcoming conferences and Calls for Papers. Registering with
COS entitles you to access the CoS Workbench, a free service providing
information on upcoming meetings, identifying meetings in your discipline, and
promoting your society or group's conference. The database is searchable by topic area, discipline, and society name.
Papersinvited
An international database of calls for papers, requiring registration to access the services. You can

SOSIG Social Science Grapevine
SOSIG (Social Science Information Gateway) provides access to high-quality, evaluated internet

New Library Acquisitions
The Library will inform the
academic staff and students with e-mails, sent on a regular basis, of all
new acquisitions, including new journal subscriptions or subscrptions to
