The Collection [Policies and procedures for Short Loan Collections] The
Short Loan Collection includes items, such as recommended readings from
syllabi of units, items which for a certain period of time are in-demand
for class or group assignments and material to support tutorials. The
Library adds items to this collection on the basis of tutorial lists
received from academic staff and additionally, transfers books that are in
high demand by students for assignments and projects. Access to Short Loan material is far more restricted
than is access to items in general circulation. The Short Loan Collection is located on the ground floor of the Library (2nd floor) behind and near the Library Issue Desk. Material included in the Short Loan Collection changes from time to time. In many cases as soon as a tutorial or assignment is completed, the material is placed in the standarn loan collection again. For further location details contact the Library Issue Desk. Borrowing
In
cases of items required for class/group assignments or tutorials, the
instructor may select the terms of circulation for each item. Each student may borrow one or two items a time from the Short Loan Collection, depending on demand. Please note that you can send an e-mail reservation request at library@city.academic.gr, or make a telephone reservation (+3231 0 224521) and pick up the item when you visit the Library. Material from the Short Loan Collection is reserved only for a day.
Returning Renewals Telephone and e-mail renewals are not allowed for material included in the Short Loan collection. Borrowed items may be renewed in person, at the Library Issue Desk if they have not been reserved by another person.
To ensure that Short Loan material is returned in time, strict fines are charged on items returned late.
The initial fine is 3 Euro per item which then increases by 1 Euro
per day.
