Audiovisual Facilities Centre (AFC)

The Audiovisual Facilities Centre offers students the opportunity to watch or re-watch videos used in the classroom or self-study to improve their English language level (including listening practice). This should prove particularly useful to students who do not have access to audiovisual facilities at home. 

The resources contained in the centre are:

§ TV, Video, CD/ Cassette players, Earphones. 
§ A range of English language cassettes.
§ Videotapes, without Greek sub-titles.
§ A table and a selection of comfortable chairs.

The resources could be used for the following activities:

§ Group work - either pre or post-lesson.
§ Absent students may watch audiovisual presentations they have missed.
§ Students may wish to re-watch or further analyze videos used in class.
§ Self-study to improve language level.

Booking

The AFC is usually booked by individuals, but group reservations may be accepted as well. Advanced reservation is always required. Reservations can be made in person at the Library Issue Desk, or by telephone. All students must sign the Log Book and leave their Library Cards in order to collect the keys.

AFC use conditions

§
Bookings and key collection are made at the Library Issue Desk. 
§ AFC can be booked for two hours maximum. 
§ Keys and any equipment can olny be borrowed with a valid Library Card. 
§ Lost or late return of keys or equipment will accrue fines.

Code of conduct 

§ Students must not eat or drink in the AFC. 
§ Noise should not be heard outside the AFC. 
§ Late return of key will result in overdue fines. 
§ Students must lock the door and return the key to the staff of the Libary Issue Desk.
§ Unauthorised re-entry and use of the AFC will result to penalties. 
§ Furniture is not to be moved in or out of the AFC.
