2006 ConferenceThe 10th Annual International Conference on Economics and Security was held on the 22nd-24th of June 2006 at City College, Thessaloniki, Greece. It was organized by the Business Administration and Economics Department of CITY College and had the support of the University of the West of England, the Economists for Peace and Security –US (EPS-US) and the South-East European Research Center (SEERC) in Thessaloniki, Greece. The Conference covered a wide range of topics - both theoretical and applied in nature - on economics and security. Participants included scholars and researchers from academic institutions and research centers in Greece, Turkey, Israel, Portugal, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Italy, France, Sweden, the United Kingdom, the United States, the Russian Federation and Japan. Some of the presenters had participated in most of the previous nine conferences (held in the UK) while others were new to the conference. From the 33 papers that were presented at the conference, 18 appear in the proceedings and ten were selected for publication in two Special issues of the Defence and Peace Economics Journal. |
