Dr John Kawalek is a Lecturer in systems at Sheffield University Management School. His career began in manufacturing where he worked as a Computer Programmer and a Systems Analyst, and as an IT consultant. He joined the Sheffield University Management School in 2001 after working as a Research Fellow at Curtin University, Australia, where he undertook research into consultancy methodologies, and also developed a new Action Research Masters degree in Consultancy and Innovation. John has extensive experience of working with commercial organisations, and has been the lead project manager or consultant in numerous projects. Recent work has been in the International Development sector, undertaking action research and developing new research in the application of systemic constructs in both consultancy and in Knowledge Management. He has a strong international profile, and has recently been working in Hong Kong, Moscow and Grenoble lecturing and consulting in systemic approaches to consulting and Change Management. He is also playing a leading role in a new European project in e-Learning and Knowledge Management within the Management School.
Research Interests: Recent research has been focused on the development and application of systemic constructs in consulting, Knowledge Management and research methodologies.
