The THE-QS is an organisation which annually issues theTHE - QS World University Rankings aiming at providing a global comparison of the global universities’ success against the notional mission of remaining or becoming world-class.

Sheffield among Top 10 for Research Power

The University of Sheffield took great pride in excelling in academic research, according to the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) which was published 18 December 2008. RAE 2008 ranked Sheffield among the top 10 for research excellence out of the Russell Group, the association of leading UK research-intensive universities. The results of the RAE confirmed Sheffield’s position as a world-leading university with an international reputation for research excellence across a wide-range of disciplines. The RAE provides important information on the quality of research conducted in UK universities and other Higher Education Institutions against international standards of excellence.
