The education offered by the Department aims at:
enabling students to acquire specialised and up-to-date scientific knowledge on psychological foundations, as well as to provide a basis for their personal, social and cognitive development
developing students’ skills in learning, critical thinking and reasoning, and knowledge and respect for diverse cultures and individual differences
developing the skills necessary to present their opinions in a professional, principled and constructive way

learning skills in quantitative and qualitative methods in order to pose questions and pursue answers through several research strategies
developing an understanding of the environmental contexts that impact on individuals and groups, enhancing their interpersonal awareness, skills, and experience working in groups towards a common goal or series of tasks
enabling students to appreciate the evolution of the discipline, its socio-political issues, and a broad sense of perspective through knowledge of the history of psychology
