BCS Accreditation
CITY College and its Computer Science department, are proud to receive re-accreditation by the British Computer Society (BCS) after the audit the department passed with flying colours early April 2009.
The recent visit by a panel from the British Computer Society (BCS) as part of a re-accreditation process for our programmes in Computing, concluded to an excellent outcome for CITY College: the BCS panel recommended a 5-year unconditional accreditation of the programmes BSc (Hons) in Computer Science and MSc in Software Engineering & Telecommunications.
The programmes of the Computer Science Department have been accredited as meeting the educational requirement for Chartered IT Professional (CITP) registration and partially meeting the educational requirements for Chartered Engineer (CEng) and Chartered Scientist (CSci) registration.
The accreditation of our programmes means that our graduates can qualify for members of the BCS automatically after their graduation. This is an important development for our students and graduates who can gain additional professional status by becoming members of the leading professional and learned Society in the field of computers and information technology. By joining BCS our students become a part of the UK's industry body for IT professionals and the leading chartered engineering institution for IT.
The BCS re-accreditation clearly demonstrates the high educational standards, the quality and the College's commitment to provide first class education.
